About Broome
A holiday in Broome is a unique experience the town’s history as the pearling capital of the world has left behind a unique culture; Australian but heavily influenced by Asia. Add this to the pristine waters, wide empty beaches, abundant wildlife and tropical climate and you can see why Broome is so popular.
The Courthouse reception area is full of information about what there is to see and do and we would be happy to book you on to a tour or recommend somewhere to eat. Centrally located and just a three-minute walk to town centre, and with a bus stop just round the corner our Broome accommodation is ideally situated to let you explore our town.

Walking Distance
Broome Courthouse –
Just across the road and the original Cable House to the cable that gave the Cable Beach its name! It is home to the vibrant Courthouse Markets on Saturday and Sunday mornings. A great place to pick up a gift and some lunch.
Chinatown –
Shops, Cafes, Pearl Boutiques, and history. Be sure to visit Streeter’s Jetty, the pearl shops, Pearl Luggers boats and infamous pub The Roebuck Hotel in Dampier Terrace. Also pop in to Sun Pictures; the oldest operating open-air picture gardens in the world.
SSJG Heritage Centre –
Discover 100 years of Broome’s cultural and social history.
Broome Museum –
Housed in one of the town’s oldest buildings, learn about the history of Broome.
Town Beach and Pioneer Park –
It’s all about that view! There is no better place to take in the colours of Broome and the café is great for breakfast or lunch or bring a picnic. The Boab tree is probably the most photographed Boab in the world! A good spot to see the Staircase to the Moon.
The Mangrove Hotel –
Popular with the locals for a post work drink and with a view to die for its not hard to see why. A good Staircase to the Moon vantage point.
Matso’s Broome Brewery –
Try some of Broome’s local beers including the famous Mango Beer and Ginger Beer in this historical building.
Broome Town Bus
The excellent Broome Bus service offers single rides or the great value Day Pass, buy tickets on board.
Japanese and Chinese Cemetery
The resting place of hundreds of unfortunate pearl divers.
Buddha Sanctuary
A heaven of tranquillity with an ornamental gardens and hand carved 4m Buddha.
Cable Beach
Famous for its iconic camel rides, our famous beach is 22km of pristine sand and tropical waters. The sunset over the Indian Ocean can be breathtaking.
Broome Turf Club

Broome is the home of the South Sea Pearl, the finest in the world. Take a visit to a pearl farm at Willie Creek or Cygnet Bay by helicopter, aircraft, bus or self-drive.

Broome Hovercraft
The best way to see the famous dinosaur footprints in Broome and the flying boat wrecks.
